Painting, literature, music, architecture, public art, cinema, comics, collecting, art history and photography come together at the XXII Conference of Contemporary Art at the University of Seville, from 16 to 20 March 2015 in Seville.
Directed by Don Fernando Martin Martin, Professor of the University of Seville, the program is taught by various professionals, main exponents on the national scene. Joaquin Perez-Goicoechea, founder and principal of AGi architects, has participated as guest speaker at the conference on Architecture in this edition. He has had the opportunity to share with the audience his views on this field, through various projects designed and developed by his firm, both built or under construction in Spain and abroad.
Thus, it has been possible to show how the city, society, culture and politics are reflected in the architecture. Projects were shown such as “La Ascensión del Señor” Church, in Seville, shortlisted among the nominated projects for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2015, and winner of the World Architecture Festival Award 2014 in the Completed Buildings Religion category; single-family houses and high-rise buildings built in Kuwait, where the design firm is the leader in this sector, such as Love Shack, S Cube Chalet, Green Core and Wafra Living; or the latest health project recently completed in the Gulf, Ali Mohamed T. Al-Ghanim Clinic.
Through each of these projects Joaquin has shown the contemporary architectural systems that are the basis of the AGi architects’ work, requiring an interdisciplinary and in-depth knowledge of the realities in which they are located.
