Today, urban areas have become complex, multidimensional entities inhabiting more than 50% of the world’s population (UN-Habitat WCR, 2016). At the same time, the development of cities presents a considerable increase in the role of data and information, so that the creation of bonds -supported by Big Data- between the building scale and urban models can provide administrations with a solid framework in which to plan the sustainable growth of the cities for the next decades. The collection of data, its conversion to useful information and the intelligent application of it through knowledge will enable future urban actions to be based on the most solid bases available to us.
