BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a collaborative working methodology for managing projects of building or civil work through a digital model. This digital model makes up a database for managing the elements that form part of the infrastructure throughout its life cycle.
BIM methodology has become a real technological revolution for the production and management of construction and infrastructures. This tool allows to build more efficiently, reducing costs and at the same time, offers a collaborative framework for all professionals involved.
AGi architects continue delving into the knowledge and application of BIM process, and take a step further sharing their professional experience. Thus, our design firm is part of the National Implementation Strategy (es.BIM) in Spain, which has a Commission, a technical committee and five working groups, each one including different subgroups.
The application submitted by AGi architects to form the working subgroup in charge of the Guide for the Preparation of BIM Execution Plan (BEP) has been selected by es.BIM, so that our firm will begin to work shortly, with the rest of members, in their development. This subgroup is part of the Working Group 3, dedicated to Processes, which is responsible for the analysis and the proposal to amend the regulations, legislation, specifications, supporting the standardization process and the creation of an environment for delivering BIM projects.

BIM is truly a tool for the digital revolution. BIM creates value from the combined efforts of people, process and technology. BIM brings together all of the information about every component of a building, in one place. It makes it possible for anyone to access that information for any purpose, e.g. to integrate different aspects of the design more effectively. In this way, the risk of mistakes or discrepancies is reduced, and abortive costs minimized. Due to its benefits there has been increased in the usage of Bim.

Dear Roger,
You are absolutely right. The BIM benefits are one of the new technologies, in addition to 3D printing, that are revolutionizing the architecture field for good. Thanks for your comment, Roger.
Best regards.
