Beyout Plus
PAHW Beyout Plus is a strategic commercial project promoted by PAHW, the Public Authority for Housing Welfare of Kuwait, and developed by REH, a company that implements innovative concepts in the real estate market in the State of Kuwait.
Located in Al Mutlaa Residential City, Beyout Plus forms a new hub that energizes the metropolitan context of Kuwait. With this project, AGi architects contributes to the economic development and political life of Kuwait in conjunction with some of the most important players in the country.
The programme is organised through a strong and clear, highly functional scheme. It takes the form of a cross located on the axes of the site. Two interior pedestrian streets are located in it, to which the shop windows open. A second façade for each shop’s store opens to the outside and has a road connection for wholesalers and private vehicles.
On an architectural level, the small scale creates an extraordinary indoor experience. The interior public spaces of this large cross are like the streets and squares in a city. Lighting, vegetation, furniture and small kiosks create an interesting landscape. Natural light enters through the skylights and is reflected and intensified.
On the outside, the building, which can be seen from the car, stands out because of the prestressed concrete façade that envelops it in its entirety. Through a single gesture, the entrances for vehicles and architecture are unified, leaving as an exception the façade facing the motorway, where the shops open their windows and invite the public inside.
