Nasser Abulhasan and Aisha Alsager, respectively co-founder partner and senior architect in AGi architects, have been the representatives of the firm in the Future Interiors conference, celebrated in Doha (Qatar) during the 8th and 9th of September. Organized by Project Qatar, Future Interiors Qatar 2014 offers a series of lectures that cover the evolution of architecture and its connection with current design trends and sustainability. It is also the perfect meeting point for stakeholders of architecture in The Middle East to keep updated and to look for new business opportunities.
In this event, Nasser Abulhasan and Aisa Alsager took part as speakers on Monday 8th of September sharing with the attendees AGi architects’ experience with regard to the innovation in architecture, under the topic “Design process and principles: deciding the level of design innovation required”.
Expanding the concept of innovation in architecture
During the speech of our colleagues, the audience had the opportunity to dive into the “innovation” concept beyond architecture and interior design, and to realise how it has been permanently present through History. This way, everything that meant a change of direction, using new methods, new devices, restructuring, etc. was, within its context, innovative although, undoubtedly, innovation means chosing a new path that solves an existing problem
Innovation at AGi architects
But, how do we build innovative projects at AGi architects? The multiculturalism and the multidisciplinarity of the team are key to achieving innovative solutions that meet clients’ needs and that are completely personalized. This is delivered by applying avant-garde elements, without leaving aside tradition and the cultural context of the place that is located on or sustainability.
Some of the projects in which AGi architects has shown their ability to innovate in design, have been detailed during this lecture, and these are Secret House, Wafra Living and the Kuwait Children Hospital.
