This book, based on Nasser’s doctoral thesis, analyzes the prevailing design in arid climates, which is a copy of the western model, although it comes from a very different reality. In arid climates like the Kuwaiti, sun exposure is abundant together with high temperatures, so the architecture should be designed according to these specific circumstances. For what purpose? To provide spaces with the most effective sunlight in each case, preserving visual comfort in buildings where the interior-exterior sunlight contrast is noticeable , and on the other hand, achieving significant energy savings. It is important to note that artificial light is one of the factors with greatest impact on the energy consumption of buildings accounting for almost 30% of the total cost.
