Aisha Alsager, Managing Director at AGi architects Kuwait, is part of the panel of judges for the Audi Innovation Award, recently launched for the Middle East to promote designers in the region.
It is a competition for design research and the highlighting of innovative ideas.
The purpose of the prize is to act as a design and technology industry motivator in the GCC and Levant regions. The theme of the competition is Innovation as ‘Significant Positive Change’.
The competition seeks to empower regional designers while archiving annual intellectual progress. The award acts as a mark of outstanding achievement, celebrating the exchange of ideas, investing in the collective by empowering a future family of change makers.
The Audi Innovation Award seeks to highlight outstanding integration of existing design solutions into new facets of everyday things.
The competition invites any innovative design objects that observe and improve upon any of the 5 areas of: lifestyle, healthcare, mobility, education and urban public spaces, such as streets, plazas, parks and their furniture.
The existing ideas may be inspired by nature or from manmade objects; the winning design will best integrate these solutions to be used in exciting new ways.
The submissions will be judged based on degree of innovation, appearance, impact, emotional content and environmental impact.
The winner will be announced in Design Days Dubai in March 2017.
